Default Dumb move....

I was changing the air filter this morning on my '85, and I didnt notice that the prior owner had a small brass nut threaded onto one of the filter housing retainer bolts (must have stirpped the original threads). Anyway the small (1/8") nut dropped into the area below the hood (in the nose of the car) between a metal plate and the radiator shroud...where I can't get to it...or even see it. Anyone else with early C4s lost any small parts down there? Can it be retrieved without dismantling the nose of the car? How bad is it if I leave it there?

I've dropped a ton of those little round gizmo's that keep the front emblem on down into the abyss in the hood and there's no rattling or adverse affect. I know it's the the place where you dropped your nut, but I can't see it doing any harm in that front area.

It should not hurt any thing. Might fall out when you are driving. I hate when stuff like that happens(LOL)

The C4 is notorious for having several "black holes" like the one you speak of. Ever drop your only quarter for the toll road in between the seat and the console?

Find a big parking lot and do some donuts. It will come right out and you'll have fun doing it.
Thats how we got a nut out of my buddies trunk lid!! Serious!
