these so called rice burner is begining to anoy me,I was at a stop light last night going home, here comes maybe 4 or 5 rice, reving their engine dam thing sounds like a lawnmotor,so I rev my engine, they all gave me that look like "wanna run"?I kept my cool let them blasting at the green light.one of these days I will see them at the track!
Yes its annoying, I get it all the time from just about any fast looking car. You did the right thing.
But just think,,,,would they have done that if you were out driving in your mini-van?.........not that there's anything wrong with that.
There are the types that think that they have the power to give you a run and and there are some that just want to see you car run.
The other day this rice burner I was next at the light took off rather "fast" and so I paced him to see if he was really running full throttle. He was and I found that funny considering my light part throttle. So I just floored it through one of my gears and he disappeared so quick from view that I thought me must of deployed a parachute!
Are the big rear deck air foil and the coffee can muffler
I'm old school, and can remember working on cheap Cutlasses, GTOs, Challengers and making them go fast. Today, kids' only option for late model RWD cars are the 90s Firebird, Camaro, Mustang. American FWD engines from the 1990s don't produce the power that those Honda VTecs do.
I guess it's all relative for the time, but I go back to my "value" question-
Thought for the Day!
Who is going to buy our cars when we unload them? Are the kids in their teens now going to buy tricked Civics when they reach their may wage earning years or the old muscle-cars and Vettes that we own now?
Guys, it's like the Model Ts and As. They were the first "expensive" collector car and now that the Model T and A generation is dying off, which one of us really wants to buy them?
They dont bother me too much. For the most part they are just kids who's parents bought them what they thought were economy cars. Low payment, low gas bill, cheap insurance and fairly reliable. Then the kids get their first jobs flippin burgers and whatnot and they naturally want to mod their lil economy cars best they can without mom noticing. It's the older ones (25-35) that I just have to put in their place if they challenge. The younger ones dont bother me anymore....they know. I just see them as young pups under the porch. Waiting for their nuts to drop so they can climb up on the porch with the BIG DOGS. Until then..us big dogs gotta paw slap a few pups back down the steps every now and then.

It pisses me off that ricers want to run me when I'm in either Cougar, but when I am in the vette, no chance in hell. They are all aware it is me... the same guy in the Cougar, but they won't allow themselves to get embarrassed.
I'm actually planning a twin turbo 94 V8 cougar project!!! It is a goldish, champagne color that I want to put personalized plates that say "G-pas car"... lets see them get beat in that!!!
Well, when I first leave the track I'm usually pumped so love to "launch" from traffic signals.
Normally I blow off the few challenges that do come along.
One night on the way home from E-Town two young guys in a riced Honda waited for me at a toll booth. As I came through they got onto it and I gave a little nudge. Around 30mph they had to hit 2nd gear and the Vette was just starting to pull strongly, so I just let off and gave them the "win". I wonder if they pulled into the local Duncan's (where the street racers hang) and told the tale of how they "just beat a Vette". Hey, they were trying so hard and I just didn't have the heart to bury em.
This happens to me all the time. Sometimes I do bite I had an eagle talon do it the other night. I used to own one so I knew it's potiencial. I killed it at all speeds. Finally, he moved off.

In addition, they also went to their ricer forums and bragged how they totally smoked your 2005 Z06 zr1 edition.
