Can you remove the Resonator/Middle Muffler, are there any effects?

I eliminated my resonator and added an X pipe, which was bent and welded by the local muffler shop that I have used for over 20 years. No issues, no codes etc... but I can hear the beast now.

Forget about tinkering with the stock system....get yourself the chambered cat-back system. The source: www.sweet-thunder.com
This has the deep tone ( a nice amount of base to it) that you are after. No resonator and no mufflers.

I wondered why I couldn't find the mufflers on mine when I first got it. It makes sense now. Someone knew that cats and a resonator were enough for mitigating the loudness and still keeping a nice tone. I may look at going with a less restrictive resonator but not adding mufflers. No way!!!! Love my setup.
