I need to email my buddy the paint code for my '95 Polo Green, and I'm not near my car. Does 45U look right? It said Med. Green Met on my build sheet- I don't want him painting my top the wrong shade, though!!
45U was the RPO code for Polo Green II Metallic since 1992. The U is how GM defines two-tone paint colors in all their cars. C4's were available in two-tone between 84-87 and the RPO codes had a U and L behind the color number.
At the bottom of the RPO sticker, there is a line that should read something like: "basecoat/clearcoat WA-L9539 U-9539..." for Polo Green II Metallic. The WA number is what a paint shop will use to find the mix formula for the color.
Medium Green Metallic is the generic name GM uses as it's also a Cadillac color.
