I'm getting my LT1 engine rebuilt and received a question I'd not thought about: Got a preferred engine color or want basic black? Having not painted an engine before, I said "I'll get back to you". Any recommendations?
I did see what was called "Pontiac Blue -1965" and it looked neat.
never though about this...
I like the look of clean orange engines when I'm at classic car shows- but I dont' know if that would look right on a vette...
ahh nice powder coat job.
well just painting the engine is just gonna make it look like crap when it flakes/rusts/chips
get it powder coated. unless thats what they are talkin about.
my 2 cents

srry dude, but you dont wanna PC heads or block. PC will fade after about a month because the blockand heads get hott, and makes it remelt/liquify and it starts to run off. And heads and blocks themselves dont take PC too well either.

ah, screw it- just get the engine Chrome Plated
I decided on the Dynaspark, and they sent me the chrome colored one, so that's a matching idea

With bias! I painted my block red because I though the stock black was boring for an engine. And with the headers, you can see more of it. I also did the inlay in the top of the intake red (and polished the rest), red plug wires, coil and other little details here and there in red. I get lots of compliments on it.

Beats me. I didnt think Cherry Hill NJ was that big. In the industry that I work in, they are a big player, so I thought you would know them. I also thought that it might be a small small world after all and maybe you worked for them. Sorry. I can look up their address on Monday if you want.

It's probably a case where they are 1/2 mile from me, but I simply never noticed them
