Default Fixed the hydraulic clutch problem

I started a thread about two weeks ago regarding a problem with my hydraulic clutch in my 85' Vette. The master cylinder was replaced, as it was leaking fluid. The problem arose when the system would not bleed the air completely. The mechanics did all kinds of things to get the air out but just couldn't get the last amount out. Finally I gave them the tip that I got from the Forum about tilting the Slave cylinder 45 degrees during the bleeding process. "It Worked". With the Slave tilted at 45 degrees they could bleed all of the air out and at the very end of the process they attached a rubber hose to pump the fluid back up into the Master cylinder. The transmission shifts smoothly. Thanks!!!

Cool. I've given that same advice, but haven't taken it. Maybe I need to bleed mine that way.

Gonnnna go do my brakes now...

I always do a "bench bleed". It saves on having to bleed the brakes at all. If theres any air left in the system its very little. If you do have to bleed its only on the front.
