Numbers matching?

Are LT1 motors supposed to have partial VIN stamps on the front pad? Can anyone confirm that these stamps actually match the VIN?

Umm.. Anyone??? Can someone with an LT1 look at the stamp pad on their block and let me know if the VIN is there??

i'd love to help, but my car is covered up.. but i think it is stamped on the block. i remember reading that somewhere previously.

I know they used to do this on small blocks, but my LT1 only has the engine date/suffix stamped. No VIN.... Very odd, unless they don't do that anymore..
