Default pke question

hi all and happy new year i am a new owner of a 94 yette and love it i find your forum very helpful and you are all very knowledgable. my question is i just bought a new pke controller should the door and hatch button work also the car doors work automatically when i approach and leave the car but the buttons for the door dont seem to respond should they??? thanks for all the help

Yep, the doors should lock, horn beep when you walk away. BTW, don't buy the directions to program your FOB from Ebay, I think they are here in the tech area, take a look. You may just have to program it.

I didn't post it but you can also arm and dis-arm the system by holding the door lock button untill the door locks cycle on the drivers side (about4-10 seconds). when the system is armed it will lock and unlock automaticly.

thanks for the tips i have it programmed and it works good i just didnt know if the door button and hatch button on the fob should work also

The door button, when armed should open the pasangers side, and the hatch button should also work and pop the hatch if you are with in range. If the buttons are not working try, disarming the system then re-arming then if it they still don't work try reprograming and see if it helps. If non of the above fixes the problem it may be a bad remote

Alternately you could read the programming intructions in the owners manual.
