I took my vette to a stereo installer to have fixed what somebody else messed up. He want to know how many pins are in each wire, so as not to cut into an airbag, etc. There are three purple wires and three gray wires. The power and ground seem to have been hooked up fine.
HELP??
Rusty
need more info on what the guy is talking about - like, which connector/what does it plug into/how many pins can the connector have (not necessarily equal to the number of wires going to the connector)?
a pin will usually not be connected to more than one wire. multiple pins are housed in a connector.
I'm pretty sure (about 99%, my dash is in pieces right now and I remember seeing this when taking it apart) the wiring from the airbag is in a sort-of harness of its own. It looks like a big yellow wire, but is infact just a yellow casing with several smaller wires inside, you can't miss it. You can see what I am talking about if you look at either top of the frame rail about a foot in front of the firewall on either side. Thats where the wire plugs into the shock sensors.
