The 74 has the two peice bumper, however, I think it's better looking because I don't like those stupid PADS on the bottom of the 75 and up. 77 was the last year of a flat rear window, and 76 was the last year of the STINGRAY designation. 68 and 77 were the only flat rear window cars with no Stingray emblem. ALso, in 73, the "hybrid" the alarm key thing was moved to the front fender. At least I think it was 73. May have been 72.
Those are some differeinces.
My 74 was silver. In the first picture the color looked silver. It had a silver leather interior, which was pretty cool. I miss that car.
I dont like those stupid little rubber peices either. BLAH I want to CHANGE that. They sell bumpers for the 76 without those and i think I will get them. WHAT WERE THEY THINKING putting those on there

I bought a car yesterday that has a set of molded ones on it... They look OK... I never thought I would like them but I think they will look really good painted the car color... And they will save some paint work after the 17X11s go on it
Here's a collage showing the same car: one on bottom has painted flaps and on top the flaps are unpainted which I feel look better on my car. They work:After ~7 years there are no still rock chips on the lower body panels.
Hope this helps with your decision. Bill

Don't know for sure. The late Doug Johnson, previous owner of my Beast installed them. However they look like the Altec molded guards that others in our club purchased from Mid America.
I don't have them on mine, but have considered them, especially after seeing the transparent ones on a friend's '85. They are barely noticable, and his panels are like new.
Maybe I am losing it, but I never noticed them when looking to purchase the car. Only after I started waxing the car that they became obvious to me. Don't mind the look with my red; nice transition from the tires to the body. Obviously, they were put on the car after the rocker panel had been sand blasted!!!
Thanks Mojo, can you tell me who carries them? I'm not having any luck with search engines and Ecklers site seems to be down now, so I can't check there.
Thanks
They indicate to me that you may intend to drive your corvette around in dirt and crap, which is wrong. wrong wrong wrong. Please do NOT off-road your vette. that's not what they are for.
my opinion obviously
On another note, I know there is this clear stuff that goes on like a vinyl graphic that will keep the paint chip-free...my buddy installs it on a lot of peoples front ends and mirrors, but it'd definately work for keeping the burnt rubber off your rockerpanels.
