I just got my Bose CD back from Dr. Don's on Friday. I haven't put it back in yet, but it sure looks nice. Excellent service with quick turn around. Ask for the $20 Corvetteforum discount.

not the head unit but I did send him all the amps for rebuild. He did a great job. They have next day service and stand behind their work. I highly recommend them.
Although his service was great I noticed NOTHING in terms of the improvement of sound clarity when having not 2 but all 4 BOSE Gold amps/speakers refurbished.
I talked with them about it and they said they were surprised because they logged that they saw corrosion inside.
I did not have the head unit serviced. I get a popping sometimes when increasing the volume (its not coming from the speakers).
Also, I do believe the device below the head unit is a g- force accelerometer for the ASR system (although I might be wrong).
I used him about 2 years ago to refurb my cd player which was not working. The service was excellent and the system has been graet ever since. Do wish I had sprung for the cd-r mechanism upgrade though!
Definitly spring for the cdr upgrade. Great quick service. The only problem I had was that my home brewed cd's wouldn't eject. I sent it back and an adjustment was made, and I had it back in no time!!!!
Just put my upgraded H/U back in last week and it is an incredible improvement. Absolutely no skipping and the sound is much "cleaner" than it was. Plus, the discs load at least twice as fast.
Sent my Bose head unit out to him about 1 1/2 to 2 years ago. The CD player had crapped out. Turn around time was prompt, the unit was cleaned, and CD's now play flawlessly. 1 year warranty.
He'll even walk you through the removal of the head unit if needed.
I have had the "doc" rework the four amps in the speakers of my 89 and am pleased with the results. I do believe that Bose also does the repairs for about $10 more per amp unit. There was a recent posting on some forum members using Bose repair service.
