JD, I'm gonna quote you since you seem to keep editing your original post. And also, just in case you change it again, so that folks here can see how bright you are.
From your post you
1. obviously were on the street no e.t. just mph and especially the guy
gave up at 90mph that does not happen at the track.
2. whatever
3.Your wifes DTS is slow and so is a stock callaway 12.8's at 113 big deal. I'm not the only one with a 12sec. lt1

Your DTS runs a 15.8 at 92 mph and what's with this ridiculous race with the 95 auto ?? Obviously it wasn't at the track with the up until 90
mph nonsense. Must have been from a rolling start and the vette didn't downshift. A stock LT1 vette runs high 13's with the 2:59 gears not
high 15's. Why would you race anyone in a big front wheel drive
caddy ?? He gave up at 90 mph ?? Street racing the wifes caddy up to
90 mph on the street ?? Nice job
Your the ******* here, racing your wifes car at 90mph and you feel like an ******* now so you post pictures of your car collection. nice cars ******* owner. quote that.
Did the '73 still have the unsleeved aluminum block? If so, 100K would be about 20 to 30 engines, right? I once drove a Vega GT w/ a powerglide back when it was new. I don't think I ever drove a slower car. That thing wouldn't pull a greased string out of a cat's a$$.......
Yea it had that terrible aluminum block. I never had a lick of trouble with mine. The trick was to never but never allow it to over heat cause once it did the thing became junk yard meat.
There were several occasions where I just pulled over to the side of the highway and let it sit for half an hour. Other than that it was very reliable and with the 4 spd it was a blast to drive & with the GT option it handled pretty well .... not to be compared with a Vette at all but not bad for a car that cost $2,850.00 brand new in 73. And it was my first car so how can I accept dispariging remarks

I'm not as bright as you I can't get a 16 second caddy to run 13's
You are the smart one for sure racing a 16 second caddy at 90.

Anything said negatively about 8388 are just said in jealousy. He's a great guy, and to me, you just made yourself look really bad. Correct me if I'm wrong here, but didn't you just join?? Sit back a little bit, and relax.

He might be the best guy on the forum, don't know, don't care. I can't be jealous of someone I don't know. The street racing to 90 was my concern. This is the kind of stupid stuff that gets people killed all for what trying to answer that age old question will a 300 horsepower 4 door caddy FWD outrun a 300 horsepower corvette. The caddy runs a 15.8 stock and the lt1 runs 13's but lets endanger everyones life to see if all the car magazines lie to us and the caddy is really a 12 second sleeper ??
