Time for a 84 roll call. Everyone with a 84 post and pics if you got em. I just want to see how many 84 lovers there are out here and what they look like.
I just need some support, because I was "looked down on" when I told a friend I had a 84.
Beautiful '84 vettes. I do not own one but am looking at a '84 red/red with 35,000 original miles on it. Looks just like your red one. I love the 1984 corvettes, the honest truth.
I have an 84.
Love the thing....its about time certain people stopped bashing the car.
theres nothing wrong with them at all!!!!
Everyone just jumps on the band wagon of bashing them...coz its what they have already heard...
People can say whatever they want... But without an '84, there would be no '85 to '96. I love mine, white w/ carmine red interior.
What he said.
Does your "friend" have a Vette?
I bought my 87 off my step-father who held off buying a C4 for a couple of years for them to work out the issues, but you know, they all have issues no matter the year,,,,and they are still Vettes.
I got one. Z-51 pretty much stock. 145,000 miles on it. Reliable as a preacher.
Runs great. DRIVES WONDERFUL.
This is my opinion so I hope you guys will give me the leeway to express it but:
1) It DRIVES better than my '91 Coupe
2) It DRIVES better than my '02 Z06
3) It DRIVES better than anything I've ever driven that runs on the ground.
Drives like a big go kart.
It's rough and rowdy and knows it's a bad boy in the handling department.
Needs a little more in the power department but for what it hasn't got there it more than makes up for in handling.
I'm working on the HP and Torque.... it's going to get there.
Oh, I DO LIKE the Crossfire Injection. I guess the thing I like the best about the CF is it has been so reliable, nothing has had to be changed or adjusted besides oil and the normal stuff in the last 6 years.
It's like the Energizer Bunny, it just keeps going and going and going.
Do I like my '84?? No, I LOVE it. AS I said above, it's more fun to drive than my other Vettes and I'm speaking from first hand experience.
<-------- here is mine.if you would like a bigger pic just go to my pic page.as this is my first vette i can't say if it is better or worse than any other but i can say i wouldn't trade it for any other.like someone else posted this is a 3000lb go kart and i love it.btw i used to think the same way everyone else thought about the 84's 'til i drove this one.she changed my mind.
i love my 84'.I've owned an 87' and the ride was worse than the 84' i have with a Z51.i love all vettes and i like tuned ports cars and will get anther one someday.but, for now the 84' has plans to go deep in ET's this summer!
.......Count me in.As far as defending an 84 goes, dont waste your time.Youll find that most people that criticize the car dont know their heads from their asses when it come to 84s.I dont even bother anymore. What I find funny is that the 84 stereotype seems to be creeping across all C4s in general.I laugh everytime I hear some non 84 C4 owner whine about sombody saying something negative about their car.You can have your Opti-Spark,keyless entry, fouled up injecters, intake leaks, etc, etc.Ill keep my low tech, bone jarring slug of a Crossfire. But im not bitter
I just got my first Vette last summer, it's an 84. The only thing I didn't like about it was the front bumper so I changed it. I' m going to jumper out the 4+3 tranny so I'll be in control. I really love driving it, it reminds me of my old musle cars. I hadn't driven anything like that in years. I too love more power so I'm putting a strong 400 in it this summer. The ride is a little stiff but man when you hit a good curve hard the look on your passengers face is priceless!
I test drove an '84 light bronze metalic Z51 coupe w/64,000 original miles on it back in October. It was the loudest car I have ever driven in or been in, but I sure loved the sound it made. My heart was pounding the whole time. Only thing that sucked about it was I only got up to 34mph; since the owner was sitting in the passenger seat. I am going to hate myself forever for passing up an '84 coupe with 64,000 original miles for $3500. Don't worry though I am looking at an '84 red/red coupe w/ 35,000 original miles for $6000, but I put an offer in for $4000. Hopefully they will take it. How I love the 1984 Corvette.

When i test drove Lisa's Vette with the owner. I done the 5 mile get to know you ride and then informed him that we were about to start the test drive. During the test drive portion, I explained that it would be driven the way it was meant to be. I feel that you can not own a Vette unless you do a little "Spirited Driving" in it. He understood and just sat back and enjoyed the ride.
I had a Z51 '84 and loved it. Dependable and handled like a go-kart. I think the '84 gets more respect today than it did 10-15 years ago. If I could find a low mileage example at the right price, I'd jump on it.
