Not a 1984 owner, but I certainly don't look down on them...

...such an important, historically interesting Corvette.

Don't have a pic to post of my yellow '84, but I'm really enjoying it! Over 200,000 miles, working on my second engine: Four bolt main, .040 over, with an opened up cross-fire manifold, Magnaflow exhaust, and man . . . does it run good! 24 mpg on the highway, and I get thumbs up from yellow C-5 guys, too!

Thanks for starting the post! It's nice to see the other '84 owners out there who feel the same way about their cars as I do mine. I bought my '84 Z51 in April 2004. It only has 75,000 miles, and is in great shape. Other than the harsh ride of the Z51 suspension (made worse by these fine roads in Michigan), I think it is great. Someone else said this, but you rarely hear a bad comment from an '84 owner about their car. Of course, I have found that all C4 owners stick up for each other--another good reason to own a C4!!

I wanted one when they were new, but couldn't afford one. Bought this one in 97 for $7500, and have never looked back.

Took these pics at dusk, so the silver almost looks blue....I'm too busy enjoying the thing to take decent pics of it..

OK, a garage shot, so you can see the real color....

84's are cool. Always nice seeing clean examples of early C4's. Reminds me of the high school years.

Hooray! This is the second thread I have read about 84's today. For the first time ever, no one has said anything bad about them!
It's usually the guys who have never owned one that have negative comments...

If you are into making some power, the crossfire is more of a challenge, and therefore more fun to modify than the later injection systems IMO.. Its all too easy when you can just buy all the parts you need off the shelf.. DIY is much more rewarding.

I love mine and will probably never sell it.

My heart was pounding the whole time. Only thing that sucked about it was I only got up to 34mph; since the owner was sitting in the passenger seat. I am going to hate myself forever for passing up an '84 coupe with 64,000 original miles for $3500. Don't worry though I am looking at an '84 red/red coupe w/ 35,000 original miles for $6000, but I put an offer in for $4000. Hopefully they will take it. How I love the 1984 Corvette.
Good luck on the Red on Red for $4000. Sounds like a great price. I just picked up a Silver/Red w 43K on it to go with my C5. I like the Cross Fire Injection. It reminds me of the 69 Camaro with the cross ram. 84s are cooooooooooool

Yeah I will probably buy the red/red 1984, but I got to get my a** down to where it is so I can contact the owner.

I bought my 84 about two years ago and haven't looked back. 42,000 original miles. It runs like a top. My wife wasn't to happy about it when I bought it, but she probably drives it as much or more than i do She wouldn't let anything happen to it now. I think i've given her the bug.
