Default Voltage Help

I just put a new battery in. When I first start her up my voltage is 15.0 and after a few minutes it go's down to 14.9 then to 14.1 then back to around 14.4 and moves around a little bit. Is this normal or is something going bad? I do not know much but i thought it should not go up to 15.0

Sounds pretty normal.
The usual stabilized voltage (no load) is around 13.5 +- .5V.

Mine occaisonally goes to 17V (on the analog gage) when I first fire it up. But, just how accurate are these gages anyway?
