Default WTB 1992 ECM PROM Chip

My dad has a 1992 LT1. My dad bought the car and the Opti-Spark was messing up due the to typical moisture damage. We ran a vacuum line through the Opti-Spark to solve one problem. Once that was done, it was still having a rough time staying running. He examined the ECM and noticed that the PROM chip had been jimmied a little bit (broken snap tab on one end). He had the ECM rebuilt because when you would tap one coner of it, the car would instantly quit. So now we think it is the PROM. If anyone can help me out, it would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Scott

Wouldn't you know it?! I need one now too! How'd you make out there? I'm looking for a 16159278 BAFM 3872. Any ideas?

Do you want an ECM or a PROM? You posted the part number for an ECM and the BAFM 3872 is the PROM which would be 16184669 for the service part. They're not serviced as an assembly but two separate parts.

I believe you should just do a WTB for yourself - the thread is 4+ years old! I'd have likely not responded except that the number you mentioned looked familiar.

I'm looking for the Prom but I think I'll do as you say and will start another new thread.
