I used TPIS long tube headers and a "Y" pipe on our '96 LT1 coupe. The "Y" pipe had a 3" outlet to which I connected another "Y" pipe that was 3" in and two- 2 1/2" out. This eliminated the resonator also. I wrapped the headers with 2" header wrap, to cut down on under hood heat and pick up a few ponies. It will take a good day to do this project. Take your time and think things through. If you don't have access to a car lift, then use some "LARGE" jack stands and some form of safety blocks. If you need any more info. on this, email me and I will give you my phone number.

Alright, I've been searching this site for more info for us later C4 guys who want long tubes, but no one sells specifically for later C4s because of emission reasons. I know that hooker sells the 2149 and 2151 for the older C4, but what kind of retrofit would it take to get these headers to work for a '94. I'm assuming 02 bungs would need to be welded and the EGR tube removed...please, someone point me in the right direction!
Irish, I have a 95 I put hooker long tubes on and the only thing I had to do was weld o2 sensor bungs on them. I would install them about 3" from your primary tubes if you have room. Hope this helps.
the further away the cats from the headers the less they work. its best ot have them as close to the ehaders as possible... but I like this idea of putting them in place of the resonator!
