Default Question for Michigan Natives

Okay its been a while since I have visited the forum. My last MISSION was my trip to Grand Rapids, Michigan from San Diego, California. Well I drove my Vette and my wife drove here Rubicon. It took us for ever because we hit several storms. Up until I hit Missouri ( ice and snow ) things were great I was really pleased and suprised on how well the vette drove 25mpg!!!! Well it is in storage now, and from what i hear I will be able to drive it at beginning of March. NOW for the question. I bought my car with high miles (1st vette) now it has really high miles 207,000 to be exact. Well the car has never been rebuilt so now i think it is time. The car still runs perfect but I want to get it rebuilt. Are there any shops near grand rapids that do this kind of work??? I just want a rebuild nothinng crazy. Please help me with Any price ranges that I sould be looking at. Thanks for all the help!!!
Al

For the machine work on your engine, More Power Inc is one of the best machine shops in West Michigan. The owner is Dick Esch and the shop is located on North Alpine at 9 mile road. He doesn't however do the R&R of the engine so you would need to find someone to do that. Another good machine shop is Performance Engineering in Jenison. They do mostly racing engines and might not want to simply rebuild your stock engine.
Hope this helps.

Welcome back to the forum and to Grand Rapids (I'm just a few miles outside of it myself).

Give Chris Curless a call @ 616 - 988 - 1315. Tell him that Troy Hammond sent you. If he's not willing to do it ( I think he will) he will be able to hook you up with someone who will. I race with this guy and he will treat you right. His web page is http://curlessautorepair.com/
