Default '85 rear uppper control arm install ?

I'm doing the switch to poly bushings and didn't pay close enough attention to the the removal of the rear upper control arm. I did pay close enough attention to note that the smaller inner sleeve diameter is towards the front of the car.

My question is if the arm is rotated 180 degrees, will it matter? The arm appears symetrical. There are some stampings on it, one side starts with the #140 and the other side has MMA-6061-6564-21\21 on it. The passenger side is still intact, and that one has #140...... facing the outside. Is it the same for the driver's side? The #140.....faces outside?

Thanks for any replies.

Makes no difference at all. I did mine and had it realigned with no problems. I have a spare and I checked it before I replied here and I can see no offset to it.

As they said, either way is fine. How bad did your bushings look? Anything like this?

Looks just like the control arm I removed from my 84 last year!

Mine were not quite that bad. There were well worn, however. The car has about 150k on it. Thanks for the replies.

By the way, the grease they include with the kit is like the devil's spawn. It gets everywhere no matter how careful you are. I'm on to using Mobil 1 synthetic grease on these bushings.

The silicone grease becomes like super glue if you're wearing rubber gloves as well.....verrrry sticky.

You will notice a big difference in handling once this is done. Tightens things up quite a bit.
