When it rains, water from the windshield dripping down onto the firewall leaks onto the wiring and even eventually makes its way down to the ECM. Question is, does anyone know where to patch this effectively, and second, what do you use to patch it?
Thanks in advance! I've already lost one ECM to this and almost lost a second. The pins on the second corroded but with some alcohol and Q-tips I was able to clean it up and miraculously it worked!
Can anyone tell me what material to use to plug the hole in the firewall from the engine compartment? I can see where all the wires are going to the ECM easy enough, though, I don't know where the water coming in.
Thanks!

If I were you, I'd first properly cover and protect the ECM and then I'd have a friend with a spray bottle in hand, spray the entire windshield with water, attempting to reproduce rainy conditions. Keep a watchful eye on the ECM and try to see where the water's source is coming from. If it won't "rain" on the ECM with a spray bottle, you need to really douse the windshield with water. Ensure you have a flashlight in hand. Hopefully you'll find the source of your leak.
Depedning on where the water is getting in, is related to what you should use to prevent the leak. I always found silicone works great. It's waterproof, dries relatively quickly and you can squeeze it into the smallest of places. You can either get a squeeze bottle or the kind used with a caulking gun.
