Hard shifting problem

My 1985 corvette shifts early and real hard into overdrive when the car is warm.. It is in 3rd gear by the time I am going 15 MPH. If I accelerate hard it shifts normal, and smooth, Does anyone have any Ideas what is causing this? The car has 90,000 miles.undefinedundefinedundefinedundefined

My first guess would be broken springs in the governor. If the fluid level is proper and the TV cable is correctly adjusted, pull the governor and inspect it.
