I need to know how to check to see if the radiator fan motor is good, if good, how to check the sending unit, and where the fan relay is located to see if it is bad and how to check it.. 86 w a/c
Car has new thermostat and radiator is clean. The fan is not turning on.
It is the OUTSIDE of the radiator that you have to worry about. The area between the radiator and the condenser. The BEST way to inspect it and to clean it, is to remove the radiator.
At what water temp? The front of the radiator isn't easy to inspect. If you look up from under the front bumper, what you are looking at is the condenser.

If this were my car, I would not want to drive it until the problem is corrected because of the high temperatures you are seeing (250). Even though that's not overheating, you're getting close to the uh-oh level. If you get stuck in traffic and don't have the airflow coming (no fan) in to cool your car, there is a good chance you will overheat.
It's possible that a little water got in there and a little dielectic grease could fix your problem. Check your relay first. If it's dead, nothing but a new one will fix it.
I just hooked my power wire to the relay dirrect and it comes on with the key.
Relay is infront of the battery near the engine.
Mine use to work the wires loose so I put a zip tie around the relay to make sure it does not loosen up .I pull 1.70 in the 1/4 and it would break lose all the time.
