Talking about small things like Throttle body bypass, moving temp sensor for air intake, and opening up airbox and so on.
Thanks
Yes they work, but you need to take the totality of the circumstances into consideration when deciding if they work. What I mean is, you won't notice a thing if all you do is the throttle body bypass. Don't move your temp. sensor. That doesn't do anything. It's been tried and tested and doesn't yield any beneficial results. Opening up your airbox and going with a high performance filter like K&N will definitetly raise your air flow.
It's when you do all these modifications in conjunction with each other. That's when you begin to notice improvements. The real improvements are realized when you begin to modify the engine. Changing your heads, manifold, cam, etc., will give you the most improvements. Unless you plan to make any engine modifications, I'd stick with what came from the factory. You will not notice a thing if you don't begin to modify. What you will do is save a bunch of money on well advertised gimmicks.
TB bypass is nice because there's less hose in there afterwards, TB stays cooler to the touch making it easier to work on/around after driving, and removal is easier since ther's no lines. I did it just for that. As for performance, the rest of the manifold gets so heat-soaked that it doesn't matter. Now if you figured out a decent way to make THAT stop, then you'd have a boost you could feel (compare a freshly started vette with one that's been run for a half hour)
