Ok so i may not need an opinion. but a guy at fast (chip and computer department owned by comp now- previously "street and perfomance") told me that he would take my car to work and do a custom tune. I have had the chip done by them- but they think they can do better with the car being there. The guy lives in my town and seems very trustworthy. The question is
Would u let someone drive ur car 150 miles that u dont know great-in order to get a custom tune for no charge?

No. *I* would drive *my* car 150 miles to somebody I didn't know for a free tune, assuming I could revert to "stock" if I wasn't happy, but I'd never let somebody else take my car that far w/o me present.

Was this guys name "Tony"? If it was Tony was the brains behind Street and Performance chip department. Tony probably knows more about hex code hacking then anyone I know. If there is something special about your car and you need this kind of assistance, then Tony is probably one of the best you can find to do this. Whoever this guy is, the is correct in saying that a custom tune is best done on a chassis dyno and in person. Depending on applications mail order tunes are good educated guesses at best. Every engine combo is different as is every car is different. Two identical engines in two different cars will act different on the street or on the dyno.
If it wasn't Tony, then I would be thinking long and hard about doing it.
Drive the vette 150 miles yourself, wait untill its done and drive it back. It might be worth taking off a day from work. Especially if its on a Friday.
