I know I have seen this in the past..but now when I do a search, I am getting nothing....I have been getting 0 returns for all the searches that I have done over the past 15 minutes. now for the question..
I removed the center piece of the top of the manual shifter....now I see a square metal piece...What now? I only had time to look at it for a couple of minutes. I just thought I would ask before I take a hammer to it later..

For any of you who are still struggling with removing the manual ****:
Remove plastic cover, grab small, square steel key with small Vise-Grips, tap upwards on small Vise-Grips with small hammer....removing key. Unscrew ****. Replace **** with Hurst unit.
Now...THAT'S the right way to replace a stock shift ****.

remove roof, stand on seats, and pull that sumbitch with everything you've got! And dont be an idiot like me and put it back in even tighter than it was to begin with.
Flameball: Traditional it aint!!!
How about the Traditional guys out there, any thoughts on the Hurst **** (can it be replaced without changing the entire shifter?)
I am pretty sure it can. The ripper has the same threads as the original shifter...and I know a couple of people that have the hurst **** on their ripper....so, it should work for you...
