Hyd. roller to Solid roller
Will I have any problems switching from a Hyd. roller cam to a Solid roller in a later model block. Will I still use the spider in the lifter valley with the solid roller? THANKS

It's a pretty easy swap. Be sure to use the right lifers, you need the taller ones like the Crower 66290 for Bowtie blocks. The spider wont be used anymore. The solids will have a much improved technique/tie bar.

I talked to Comp about this yesterday. Like 406 said, you won't use the spider. I was pleasantly surprised to hear that Comp had updated their line of lifters, with revised needle bearings and also high pressure oiling to the bearings. Part number 871-16 is supposed to be the correct lifter for the late model blocks - raised cross bar.
