you may want to reconsider before its too late. why pose as a different year? its only going to hurt you in the wallet when it comes time to sell, surely the buyer would be asking the same thing.
the better thing to do is simply buy a later year corvette, and sell yours if desired. please don't ruin yet another corvette from what was originally intended.
withh all the $$ required to do this body mod, why not instead put it under the hood.......or just keep it?

Brad makes a great point, but for me, I don't worry about resale value.
If you have the $$$ to do it and the desire, I say go for it. I can't help you with where to go, but the big catalogs have the pieces you need(MAM,Ecklers etc).
Thanks Frank And in all due respect, I would do my best to stop anyone who's still in the planning stage of doing things like this. IMHO, I would implore anyone NOT to do this. Its going to cost mucho pesos, and you get zilch out of it. Put the money under the hood where it really belongs. THAT's impressive. Screwing up the original intent of the General who's done a masterful work of art on our C4's (and all earlier generations) is a major mistake. In this particular case, we have someone who's thinking of turning his vette into whatappears to be a later year C4. When anyone asks, he'll have to explain "Er um, no its not a '94" or whatever the case may be. I would be looking at the ground the whole time I would have to repaet this. Its just embarrassing - or it damn well should be. Its like putting a ZR1 emblem on the rear bumper......really its just a plain bold faced lie. I'm sorry, I will never support this, its simply a terrible idea.
Again, just take the $$ thats obviously burning through your pants pocket and load up the engine with some extra horses --- you'll feel it every time you turn the key AND you can be legitimately proud of it. Any pimply faced kid can F around with the body and become an import car specialist.
When I bought my 88 years ago it was wrecked front and back. It came with 91-96 replacements so that is what I used. I really like it. It is immediately obvious to anyone who knows vettes. I like the look better. I was friends with a body shop owner, I did the research and he did the work. His labor I think was around 1200 including some other issues and repaint front and rear. I will email you a pic if you want. Just pm me.

I understand what you're saying, but engine mods won't get you any return on your money either. The mods I've done to my car were done because I wanted them and not for potential resale value. Bottom line is cars are not money makers...........thats what real estate is for
I bought mine from Contemorary Corvette, so they are original GM off of wrecks. I think i paid around $1500 about 4-5 years ago. Mine got side swiped so the panels had to be replaced anyway....and i like the look of the newer bumpers and molding much better.
I paid $400 for all my OEM ones of a 96. That was with the lights to.. I am a painter by trade so the whole thing cost $1000 painted. People ask what year is it and I tell them 85. The brakes are off a Z06. Cause they are better. Not that I am trying to look like a Z06 they are just better perfomance. I would imagin that I have over 25k into my vette. I would be lucky to see. 12k for it.
I have to add one more thing.. I do lie to some people. Like when I race a Viper at the track and spank them they ask what year is that and what mods? I say K&N and a chip is all.

Golly gee... a rough crowd when it comes to body mods. I guess my change over to the Shinoda-williams body kit that will have the rectangualr rear lights instead of the round ones, will lower the resale value of my 1990 with 112k miles. I got close to trading her in 3 years ago, and the toyota dealer would only offer me $3500 and carmax said $6000. Then when I went hog wild with engine upgrades and now body changes. I never want to be in the NCRS rivet/chalk counting crowd, that is way too **** to actually enjoy the driving the car....
Done right the front bumper is the most expensive.
I pieced mine together from Ebay, gmpartsdirect and the local dealer. Right now I would say I would never do it again.
i did mine two years ago.. bought all gm parts got a new frt cover from ebay for 200.00 the rest of teh stuff i bought off of here or ebay ... all totaled it cost about 1500 bucks in parts i did the work myself.. as for "ruining" another vette do what ya want its your car.. these guys that think their c-4's are some sort of collectible car is absurd... only the rarer versions are gonna be worth squat GS,ZR1,LT4's and a few 93 40th's .. at any rate i did mine and love the way it looks and it gets many compliments... its all bolt on but ya need soem time to get all the parts rounded up

Different stroke for different folks. Go for it. I got a 93 and I personally like the 91-96 body style better than old 84-90.
I'm looking into it because as we speak my car is apart. I don't mind leaving the original stuff but I must admit the newer bumpers look better! I really wouldn't consider myself to be posing if I installed the newer kit because it was offered from factory (91-96), unlike skirts and spoilers and I've got about 25K into mine, maybe more and I'd be lucky to get $18k for, it' if I'd try to sell it.. Different strokes for different folks, thanks for the replies guys!
I bet you if the sitution was reversed and The General originally started the C4 with the bumpers currently on the '91 thru '96 years you would see a huge influx of people swapping to the "newer and better" design of the coke bottle rear and less rounded front bumper!
bought my 89 with 94 clips on it i think it adds resale or at least doesnt hurt it especially when you tell them how much it cost to do. i like both looks so it really didnt matter the only problem is the front bumper is a little off. is it hard to adjust will i have to take the whole thing off? hood off? if i take it off i heard you can cut some major lbs. out of it.
I would say Ebay is one of the places to get them. I have heard a few people having issues with the bumpers that arent Gm-production. Check out parts for sale for people parting vettes and the local wreck yard would be a good place to start
