Default Most bang for the buck

I'm trying to sell one of my other cars that I said I'd never sell. Now, what to do with the revenue. Another bike to get back into racing? A new laptop to hopefully get the side business started? Or, my first thought, forced induction for the C4! If you had ONLY $6000 to spend, and wanted the job complete, what would you suggest? Turbo system? I like the idea of adjustable boost. Supercharger? Got to love the sound as well as the "right now" response. Or the bike/laptop (you can see where I'd like to go). Nitrous is out. Done it, don't like the short life span/refills etc. Please, fill me with ideas. Details are essential as I'm looking for places to spend the money.

Hard time getting a turbo system for 6k unless you do it yourself. Blower...could be done, but an LT4 really needs lower compression. A new CPU could generate more money which sounds like a plus.

Do what you think is best

Ain't that a loaded question

What's this side business? Is it going to be making you enough money that you'll get your investment(or more) back in a year or two. If that's the case you can pick up a used laptop off of ebay for under $500, or you can just buy a desktop unless you really need the laptop for something. Either way you don't need to sell a car for that.

As for a bike, if you're looking to get back into racing(quarter mile) pick yourself up a hybusa and slap a turbo kit on it www.hahnracecraft.com You'll be running 9's or better for under $10k. Good luck trying to do that with any car. $6k for the bike and you'll be running low 10's or better.

If you're looking to mess with your car, I'd say do a stroker motor. I'm not sure you could do a "proper" turbo kit for under $6k. I'm at $4k in parts on mine and I did all the welding and engineering myself. And it's going to cost over $2k for the engine to get fixed to run any decent amount of boost. The custom pistons with coatings are going to run $1k themselves. You'll get the best bank for the buck with a stroker with the least amount of hassel afterwords. If you are set on forced induction go ahead and pick up a supercharger kit. There are some hidden costs but if you keep the boost low you won't have to do any engine work.

It sounds like you're missing a wife to tell you what to do or some random guys to bounce ideas off of, oh wait thats us isn't it. Good luck with your decision.

I just looked at your sig stuff, looks like you road race with your gsxr. Hahn makes a turbo kit for that bike too, but I'm not sure if that's what you would want for a road race, would be great on the strait aways. Maybe get the turbo kit and a heads and cam package for the vette.

Thanks, all good points to consider. The bike thing, would be to have one street and one race (yes, roadrace) and as for the wife, she's here, but the other car has been around longer . She's agreed that since I don't have to sell it, I can play with the money from it.

As for overall response, sounds like stroker or low boost for dependability. Either way, 5-6K is not a lot, is it?

As said earlier, If you can make your money back for the laptop IMHO it's a no brainer. If you laptop requirements are high ie: top off the line now your looking at 3k, if not just a home based web business you can get new for 1k-1.5k
Spend the difference on the stroker to get you started, then dump $500 - 1K at a time into your mods to the stroker while you earn the $$ from the laptop
ps-I have the itch for a bike as well, don't think I'll ever get over it. Difference is I do it in the dirt, and I can't take the pounding anymore
