I went to Wal-Mart to get one of their Maxx (I think that is what they call them) batteries for my 1995 6-speed. I used that little look-up device they have on the battery display... the one where you push buttons to scroll through menus to find which battery you need... well, when I got to the screen with all of the year models... they skip 1995! It goes from 1994 to 1996... Do the '95 models take a different battery? The screen said the 75s was correct for 1996... but nothing for 1995.
Honestly, I never heard of a Maxx battery and I thought I heard of them all. It could be the best battery in the world or the worst. Why not stick with something you know works well. There are disagreements over the Optima, but if you go with that battery, you'll have to do slight modifications to get it to fit. I like the Sears Die-Hard Gold series. I've been using them for years in all my cars and they last a long time.
You probably spend at a minimum a little extra money on your Vette. So why not install one of the best batteries out there? The Sears Die-Hard Gold has been around for years and years and has proven itself to be a winner. A while ago, they changed manufacturers and their battery quality greatly suffered. They have since gone back to their old distributor and all problems that they were having have been eradicated.
I have had real good experience with two in my daily drivers and even a lawn/garden battery......over 4 years use on one with no problem...sold the other car after 2 years..

Yes, come to think of it, I've had one of their replacements in my lawn tractor for at least 4 years now.
Same people that make the sears makes the wal-mart batteries. I can tell you beyond a shadow of a doubt that the plates that go into them are the same.
I went with the Wal-Mart battery... starts the car just fine... The exact name is Everstart Maxx... Wal-Mart in-house battery... It seems to be doing the job fine.

I will buy nothing but Walmart batteries... well except for Optima, but that is a whole other thread. Walmart just plain knows how to take care of their customers. I had a Wally world crank box in my brothers 67 Mustang that somehow imploded and shot acid all over everything. Walmart paid out $500 for new plug wires, hoses, and beauty equipment for what was damaged... and it ended up not being the battery's fault
Second... Wally batteries are made by Interstate... which if I remember correct makes Sears batteries, and AutoZone and a few others. Batteries are batteries so you are basically paying the difference for retailer overhead... Wally's are pretty cheap and they work.
Third... unless you are running some form of race car that does not have a charging system, Wally bats hold up under some brutal conditions and come with warranties equal to that of Optima (well the Maxxs do). What more can you ask for for 35% savings???
