Default Help: 88 Front right brake sticking

OK, I needs some expertice. My 88 front passenger side brake is sticking. All of the other wheels roll free. I have changed out the caliper and pads, no improvement.

The car drives alright, and does not pull, but the rim is covered with brake dust and wheel and caliper is heating up pretty hot from the friction.

Are there proportioning valves anywhere regulating the pressure? Any ideas or help will hopefully get her running well again.

If the fluid is black exchange it with new.

If neither caliper is hanging up and both are well lubricated, install new hoses. If original hoses on now, just change them before exchanging fluid.

If that doesn't fix the problem consider that the caliper is defective.

Chances are it is the brake hoses. The interior of the hose swells shut, keeping pressure applied. You may want to verify this by pulling the brake hose loose from the caliper, and then see if your wheel will spin.
BTW, if you are going to change one, change both sides. If one has swelled shut, the other side is not far behind.

Are both the inboard and outboard pad wearing evenly, or close to even?

Are both sides of the rotor wearing evenly?

It' possible that either the caliper or the rotor is no-longer centered.

Have you had an accident or some corner work done?

The Passenger side front pad is wearing more than the drivers side. Sounds like the hose may be the next on the list to replaced (Will do both).

I thought there was a brake booster inside the cab of the car between the seats. When I start the car I hear a motor run for a second, and I was told that was the brake booster equilizing the brake fluid pressure. Does anyone know if this is true? If so could there be a pressure valve associated with that?

That's the "ABS module" the brake booster in mounted to the firewall right in front of the driver. The noise is a self-test and is normal.

I would suspect that the caliper piston is sticking and not allowing for needed roll-back. Or the guide pins are misaligned or poorly lubricated.
