When I last changed my coolant, I used the stuff and put the entire contents in. Was it effective? Who knows? My engine's not overheating, so maybe.

That is possible... kind like saying that the Everglades stop snow, it never snows there, so it could be.

I use water wetter, and it does help. The idea behind it, and other products like it, is to reduce the surface tension on the metals, allowing the coolant to do a better job.

When you added the water wetter, did you first flush the rad?

I thought the point of water wetter was to reduce the ethylene glycol content of the coolant- thereby increasing the specific heat of the coolant. (remember HS Chemistry??!?!)
...while retaining the anti-corrosion and lubricity of the coolant.

If that's the case, add more water.

The idea is to reduce surface tension. That allows for better heat transfer.

He asked if it was effective. I have no way of checking, so I was making light of my answer. It was a joke. I don't know if it's me, but you sometimes seem to take things too seriously.

I knew it was a joke - that's why I added the "" smilie!

Sorry if it didn't come across that way.
