Knet Moore Tool J39087
Is the Kent Moore tool - J39087 the same for the 93 corvette (Non-vented Opti) as for the the vented style opti - or are the seals different thus different tools needed - which is correct for the 93 non-vented.

The seal is different. When they changed the opti for 1995, it caused a change in the timing cover. The new shaft was beefier, the seal is different.
So the tool for 1992-1994 should be different. These seal tools depend on spreading the seal over or into something. So size is very important.
In my helms manual, for 1992 (1993 the same), the tools are J 39090 for the optispark seal and J 39089 for the waterpump seal.

I don't think you need J 39087 - that tool is not referenced in my 1992 helms manual.
Unless you updated the opti to a newer style...
What you might be able to do is take the timing cover and seals down to your local chevy dealer, tell the service writer you need these seals installed... how much?
if they tell ya 20.00, that's cheap at the price.
