Default I need your knowledge

Hey guys, I have an 85 Coupe with an 89 L98 in it. The engine is low miles with a Comp cam, Edelbrock alum heads, Edelbrock TPI base intake, roller rockers, no cats, Heddman ceramics, K&N with cut air box, aftermarket chip,....not sure what kind. Fuel injectors, regulator, plenum and runners are stock from my 85. The engine makes great low end torque and pretty good power to about 5500 rpm. I want to start upgrading the injection system. Mine is 20 years old. I would appreciate some input about injectors. What works best with my set up? I will be adding high-flo siamesed runners and adjustable regulator. Probably stay with the stock throttle body right now. And I'll do a little flow work on the plenum where the throttle body attaches. I would love to hear from the guys with simular set ups. I keep hearing about the Ford 24's. What do you guys think? Thanks a million. Troy

man, every thread I read about FI, folks recommend Ford injectors? What's up with this? Almost seems sacriligious to bolt Ford parts onto a Chevy powerplant??

Are the Ford FI's better quality or simply less expensive than going with OEM injectors...???

The FMS injectors are a great value. Also replace the old pressure regulator if it is 20 years old. The regulators diaphram could take a dump on you anytime. If you really want to make her run, apply the money you would spend on the larger runners towards a Super Ram plenum and runners. You already have the Edelbrock base, which from what I have heard is nearly the same porting as the Accel part. Your engine would benefit more from the SR plenum and runners vs just going to the high flow TPI runners. But the bad part is that the cost is going to be about double

Same part, cheaper price, better quality than most aftermarket.

do a search on Summit... they are the blue tops.

Check for the 19lbs too. With an AFPR, you can bump up to match the rating with no problem.

You see, the FMS injectors are rated at 38psi, GM runs at 43 PSI.

By raising the pressure, your raise the # rate.

Unless you NEED injectors, save your money. Any minor adjustment needed to the A/F ratio, can be made by the adjustable regulator. If you buy big enough injectors, that the O2 and ECM can't compensate for, you will only guarantee that adjustments will have to made. If the ECM CAN adjust for the bigger injectors, it can adjust for yours too, especially if you boost the pressure, as, and only as, needed.

RACE ON!!!
