434CI - New Cam installed...
Similar trans and convertor to hookedup. I am sure you'll be launching QUITE hard with that set up. "GULP" does the helpless D44 have to take this kind of abuse or is it going to have a Ford 9"?
Hope you get what you're looking for.

I am sorta worried about it leaving easier with the gear reduction. But in dads car is sure didn't leave any easier.
THen again he went up ~55 CI and more compression.
All you can do is try. If there was a given recipe for 9s in a full weight car - more of us would be running there. I know as it sat before if corky and I would have tore out 500lbs out of each of the car, they both would have went 9s, but that is not what I am after.
I got the T350 in the car - what a dream. It went in 3x as easy as the 700r4! Usually I had to wrestle the trans up over the headers and into position with it scraping the floorboards. The 350 went in with room to spare between it and the floor. I put the c-beam up into place and it lined up perfectly. The bolts and everything were 10x as easy to get in.
That usually doesn't happen when putting components in a car that wasn't designed for it. Damn that converter is small. At 8 inches it looks like a little donut on the flywheel!
Just the reduction in the rotating masses has to gain me some extra power I would image. Between the internals of the tranny and the converter there has to be a pretty substantial weight reduction. I put the exhaust up on the car. Damn that is heavy trying to do yourself and line up the bolts. That alone has to weight a good 60 lbs or more.
The car sounds extreme with that cam now.
Have to get that tune straighted out, hint to 85vet
if I can steal his kitchen internet service. The cam has so much overlap its running extremely rich. The easiest and best way I think to cure this is to just run open loop 100% of the time. With the extreme amount of overlap these racing cams have they tend to cycle quite a bit of air past the 02, which interprets this air as a lean condition and pours the fuel in, which inturn pours out the pipes. If I keep it 100% open loop, the car will run with no corrections whatever I dial into it. My last cam was boarderline with this happening - this one is WAY beyond
Will keep you posted on the progress....
I actually weighed by dual ex. 2.5" pipes with the old Ravin mufflers, no cats and 1 H tube 60lbs.

My duel 3" Stainless has to weight quite a bit more than that then. It has stainless SLP muffs and also the Hpipe. Probably a full .1sec just in weight there.
