Advice on OBDII scan tool
I have a 1996,LT-1 and would like to purchase a 16 terminal scan tool, so I can read the codes and component testing.Is their one that is better than the others or are they all the same.Not looking for the real expensive ones that can change the chip performance.Any advice would surely be appreciated.Thanks in advance.

I use Autotap. It works pretty well. You can check/reset codes as well as monitor any of the OBD2 paramaters (fuel, air, auto trans, AC pressure, you name it).

I currently use AutoEnginuity
I currently use the tool made by AutoEnginuity. It is made by the same guys that do the pollution test equipment here in AZ. I have had good results with it. You can also reset any DTC's the car has. It will tell you if the required tests that the EPA looks for have finished and their status. There is a dashboard that you can configure to look at different sensors. It looks for over 100 GM sensors and it does take a while to startup but after that it is cool. Some info is at AutoEnginuity.
