Half of the flange came off in my hand when I tried to turn it to drain the radiator, even though I finger-tightened it last time it was drained. What would be the best way to drain it not using the plug? Also, can the plug be fixed? I think the last time I drained it, the plug has a stopper or something that does not allow it to come out. TIA
It's an 85 with 60K on it. I've had the radiator serviced every year since I've owned it, but it is rusty inside. Thanks for the tip about the knock sensor - all I want to do is port my manifold, so I just want to drain the block, not the radiator. I just thought I'd do it how it is supposed to be done. The manifold will be a mother scratcher to get off most likely.
