Default Tire size help

Ok, I need you guys' advice. I am looking for new tires for my '87 with the stock rims. Currently it looks like my best options (since there are not that many options for this size wheel) are the Dunlop SP8000 and the Goodyear F1 DS3. Here is the dilemma: Dunlop makes the 255/50/R16 size I need, but the F1 only comes in 245/50/R16. How bad will the 245 look vs the 255 on the dunlop. I know it is skinnier, but I do not know by how much.

If you have experience with either of these or suggestions on different performance/daily driver tires please let me know...

Have you done it before with your tires? It seems like the F1 is a far superior tire, but I dont want it looking all delapidated....

I had the Dunlop SP8000 on my 94. It was a great tire in the curves and did well in the rain. I never did figure out why my fronts lasted almost 20,000 miles and the rears only 4,000 though.. I would buy them again. Check Tire Rack for comparisons, actual dimensions and user surveys. Good info to be found there.
