Any comments from "the pros" on this software? I have purchased a unit and want to get into this area of my Vette. Any info or experiences would be appreciated!

I have it and it works great. But it won't run on fast Pentium PCs. It needs a old door stop 386 or 486 laptop. I tried running it on a P1 90 MHZ and even that dog was too fast. That is the only drawback of it, and it is a little expensive.
I have the software and it is version 2.87 and I am not sure of the date. By using the software on my 89, I am able to get the diagnostic data and not the ALDL data. I have called the Diacom assistance line and refered to the website. Anyone else have this problem as I could sure use some help?

I use Diacom+ on my '85 with a new IBM ThinkPad T42 Pentium M. It works great with some startup switches. I don't recall exactly what they are right off but I could look them up when I get home.

SSPackman: I would appreciate any help you can give me on this as I still am not able to get the ALDL mode data. Thanks in advance, SAM
Shayne: I have tried to get the Diacom-P to run with both the /F and the /N switches as you suggested. I also used the special spacer between the ALDL plug and the laptop plug. When I use either switch and attempt to connect in the ALDL mode, the RPM goes to 1000 (as it should), but I cannot get any data or info. I am able to use the Diagnostic mode by omitting the adapter. Any suggestions would be appreciated! My version of Diacom is 2.87.

I checked and I have an older version of Diacom, 2.83. Maybe you want to try that? It's worth a shot. Send me your email address in a PM and I will get it to you.
You are using an actual Diacom cable, right? That's a necessity, and there are a couple of different types of those too. It's been a long time, but I recall that only one of them will work with the '85. Since you have an '89 it will probably be different than mine. What is the P/N from your cable?
There are also a couple of different modes you can put your parallel port into for this. Do you know how to switch those around in the BIOS?
