rear diff oil capacity

rear diff oil capacity
what is the oil capacity on my stock '84 diff? If it matters, i have an automatic transmission. thanks in advance.

My unit takes 2 23 oz units of gm lube and 1 bottle of additive to fill. I usually use 2 additives though.

My '95 manual states 1.5 qts. and makes no mention of any difference for 6 speed or A4 cars.

I'm changing mine Wed. Two bottles of additive, have to think about this one. Did Gordon give any reason?

I have redline in mine, didn't put in any lim. slip additive (Redline already has it in) and have not had any problems at all.

If I remember right, it was 75-90, and it took about 1 3/4 qt's to refill.

the stuff i bought says it is equal to 75-140, redline light weight shockproof. i havent put it in yet, between rain and work i cant seem to find the time. hopefully this will eliminate that howling noise when i make turns. thanks for all of your input guys big help.

i heard LUCAS heavy duty 80-90 doesnt' need posi additive just like the Redline stuff too.i hope they stand by those claims!

I just had my Diff apart and added two bottles in my diff as well. As recommender by Dr. Killbrew
