Default Dark Red Metallic paint code issues!

I can't find touch up paint for my 92 Dark Red Metallic. I've got all the codes off the car and I think the code is 75 (maybe 750) or (WA-9239). Apparently no one sells this touch up paint color because I can't find it. I went to the store before they closed and bought three different color paint tubes because I was sure one of them would be the right color but I've bought Med Red Met 498 (44) (WA408G), Med Garnet Red Met 380 (72) (WA8979), and Dark Cherry Met 509 (94) (WA9088). To complicate things each color has three codes for whatever reason I've been on the action center website looking around because I was pretty sure the "official name" for the color was dark red metallic and that's what they're calling it but I'm wondering if theres another name for it? I've got my car in the detail shop to get buffed (x3) so I need to find this stuff tomorrow morning if possible so the shop can touch it up for me (let the pro's do it right?).

thanks in advance,

Joe

I had a mobile touch-up guy mix up a batch. Most new-car dealerships can give you the name of their guy and days he comes out to touch-up. My guy mixed-up a fresh batch of ruby red (very hard to get right) and gave me an old cut-off hyperdermic needle. Basically, you draw a little paint in the needle and push the tip into the chip until it levels with the rest of the paint. Wipe off any excess immediately and don't forget to draw cleaner through your needle when you are finished. Very professional results without the brush marks and dried-up paint they try to sell you.

Oh yeah, I gave him 10 bucks and he gave me a babyfood jar size touch-up.

When getting touch-up paint to match, go by the "WA-####" paint code. Don't worry about the RPO code.
1990-1995 Dark Red Metallic on Corvettes was also known as Brilliant Red.

bring the code to a bodyshop supply store, they'll mix it up for you.

Hey Joe

If you do get some made up, get an extra bottle and I'll PayPal you some $$ for it. I have exactly the same problem with my 88 vert

I've had a few auto paint shops mix up dark red metallic for my 94 and it never looks right . Its a dull darker color with every mix I've gotten.. it looks fine right when you put it on, as it drys the color changes though

We have a Car-Quest here that the body shop's use to color scan the vehicle and prints out the correct mixture.Takes into account aging and the color matches perfectly.

If it's not to late
I have bought many spray cans from these people with very good results.
Excellent match with my 88 Dark Red Metallic.
Painted GS flares and repainted ground effect pieces with them.
