Hello All I need a little help. My car was runing fine yesterday but today it just won't start.
He is the story . I left the Key in the car yesterday and was doing a little work on it so I had to turn the wheel so i had the key turned to the first position (just to unlock the wheels) well I left it like that over night and now the car won't start my dash will not even turn on and the gauges won't work. First I thought the was just drained batt.
i turned on the headlight they where bright and when i turned the key they did not even dim. I know it's not the clutch switch (it's been bypassed) and i don't think it's the vats because i don't even get the dash lights. So what else can it be. I have checked the fuses and charged the battery. I also do no have any hazard lights or power seats or power door locks. The car is just completly dead except for the lights which work fine and bright. Is the and kind of main relay or fuse that powers everything else
Thanks
I see by your profile it's a 1990-I'd recheck the fuses, there is also
circuit breakers-but they are suppose to reset. Are you sure your battery is fully charged and the connections are clean and tight? I doubt you've done any damage to the car with the exception of draining your battery.
You said you were "doing a little work" then this happened.....if the car was running fine before the "work".....so it begs the question.....what were you working on? You may have inadvertinly done something.

Just about all of the electrical equipment inside the car is powered through the ignition switch and the ignition switch has four separate switches powered through a fusible link behind the battery. I believe the 90 has some fuses also behind the battery ( I own an 87). I don't have access to an electrical diagram for a 90, so I recommend that you look for the open circuit fusible link that powers the ignition switch.
