Yes they do work! I was surprised how much. I was afraid I would have to get a higher capacity radiator for my 383 but it cools so much better now that the stocker radiator will be fine come summer. There is SO MUCH heat trapped in that hood! I would recommend them if you have headers, a high HP engine that produces a lot of heat or live in the southern parts of the US.
You do retain the inner fender wells. You just drill small holes in them to drain the water from the hood louvers.

I had thought about getting them, but I wondered how they would look. Do you have any pics of them installed on your CE?. By the way, nice car!. Also where did you get that cool ramp/lift setup, & was it expensive?

I was thinking about louvers, myself, the other day. My biggest hangup is that my Vette is a DD, so I'm not too sure what I think about the louvers + rain...
I'm still iffy on them. The concept is really cool and they work well, but they just look so tacked on. IMO they really take away from the "sleekness" of the hood.
