Default battery....straight up

Would it not be easier to remove the battery upwards instead of dismantling half the car to remove it ?

It only takes 5 minutes to R&R the battery - not a big deal. Removing all of the other stuff - how much depends on year - would be just as bad.

Remove 3 Torxs, a 10mm and loosen a 10mm. Install is reverse. I have put batteries in cars that were MUCH worse - I used to work at AutoZone.

Too much in the way to do it from the top. Also removing the panel makes it much easier, I've heard too many people just bending it out instead of loosening the bottom bolt.

On my 95 model I also thought it was going to be a pain, but with me never doing it before, I was able to do it in about ten minutes or less. I only wish everything else on the car was so easy.

Just changed mine 2 days ago. I thought it would be a pain in the a** to do, but it turned out that it only took me about 15-20 minutes because I was cleaning the battery tray and taking my time. Pete.

Removed mine for the winter by removing the side panel. No big deal, that's the way to go. Went back in just as easy. Also gave me a chance to clean the driver's side cowl drain hose which was almost block up completely.

Removing the side panel is the only way to go.
Just don't force anything, or you will damage or crack the fiberglass!
Doing anything "Right" takes time.

The diagonal brace is pretty hard to replace once you remove it. It is a structural member between the frame and corner of the firewall/body/cowl.

I can have my battery out in about 5 minutes.

Not too hard to remove, just don`t make contact with the brace when you have your wrench on the positive terminal. That will wake you up
