My intermediate steering shaft (connects the steering column to the rack) has a substantial amount of rotational slack (meaning, turn the wheel a bit before the wheels follow) and also vertical movement in the bushing'd joints- so the intermediate shaft will "wobble" up and down mayb 1/2" or so when I pull on it.
So I'm guessing it needs to be replaced. Outside of welding some support peices onto it to stiffen things up and VOID any safety features of the collapsable shaft... what are my replacement options? Any hint on aftermarket or cheap replacement parts?
I think the rubber bushings are just shot letting the slop come out... and I know it isn't a "servicable" part.
