Default Caliper Removal

Can all four calipers be removed from the car at one time?

I'm considering painting my calipers and read that when breaking the bleeder valve that only one wheel at a time should be cracked open.

After the clean up don't you reinstall then bleed the calipers in the order PR DR PF DF?

Will having multiple lines full of air complicate the bleeding process? I'm going to use speed bleeders.

I've removed all 4. Took some vacuum caps and pushed them through the fitting, and then shoved a bolt in there to give it a good solid seal. No leaking.

remove all 4? sure, why not? i would plug the lines like Jeffvette said so you don't lose fluid from the system.

you don't want the ABS unit to go dry, since you may need the factory diagnostic tool to properly bleed that unit.

I cleaned and painted mine over a year ago and did it with the calipers on the car. I think its easier that way. Clean the calipers with brake cleaner and wipe dry and spray the caliper paint into a paper cup and paint the caliper with a brush.

If you have the rubber lines, just install small clamps in the middle of the hoses before removing the lines from the calipers. Pinching the hose will keep air from entering at that point so when you reinstall the calipers, the bleeding won't take a lot of time.

Bleed the brakes in this order: RF, RR, LF, RR. Because the fluid from the M/C flows to the ABS pump first, the distances are based from the ABS pump, not the M/C.
