Default bleeding the slave cylinder

OK I need some info on the bleeding process of the slave.I just put new masters line and slave on,as if that wasn`t a pain,I put a speed bleeder on the slave and the car still don`t go in gear.So I had my son assist me to do it the old pump and bleed style,I have not tried it yet it was late,so had to leave it,but if this does not work can you guys kind of help me get this thing on track. Thanks Guys

I'm not sure if the '88 is the same as my '92 but heres what I did. You will need to get the bleeder valve to the highest point, even if it means taking it off again. On mine, I held a piece of flat metal in my hand with an indentation in it for the shaft of the slave to seat in. Then by hand, I pushed the piston into the slave, tapped it a few times, then repeated - the whole time with the valve pointing straight up. It took about 10 times but it was the only way I found that got all the air out of it.

I went through the same thing, pressure bled, gravity bled, vacuum bled and it still wouldn't disengage correctly. I finally found a blurb on a website (idavette?) that said to pump the clutch...pump it alot... like 100 times!! It actually self bleeds. The bleeder screw is there to get 90% of the air out, the rest is pure leg work.

Somewhere around 50 pumps, it totally changed the feel of the pedal, I went the next 50 on my right leg. Ouch.
