you can remove ALL egr system including air pump, Diverter valves, air tubes on the headers, cats the entire emissions system...basically all that remains is the PVC and an air breather...and the nice thing no chip mod needed..if you do run a code #32 it is also easily fixed...

egr sensor is included. code 32 is egr failure. yes the canister can be remove as well.. venting the gas cap is then required.. when properly done ther should be only 4 vaccum lines connected. PVC,brake, fuel reg, and cruise control

You can install an airpump eliminator kit. I installed one on mine and it cleaned up the entire engine bay.The appearance is so much more appealing now that all the emission junk is gone. I left my canister in place and some of the lines that were connected to it, I also left in place. I simply tie-wrapped them to other lines and they appear to be in use. You can see the airpump eliminator up close in my engine picture in, "My Corvette Photos."

Yup, you will get a check eng light... Only until you stop & shut down. It comes on again next time it sets. Mine used to do it under part throttle on the freeway. I got tired of seeing it & a great deal on a chip from a fellow forum member that did away w/ the problem.

that heater line is not a vaccum. it tees off the 3/4" heater line and runs towards the rear of the intake. it is actual a vent/cooling for stream escape.

heres is the cause ( usually when a 190* F t-stat is used)and fix as provided by 65zo6:

On my '87 L98 the EGR wiring is as follows:EGR Solenoid - A Grey wire comes out of the left injector wiring harness near the left front of the engine. EGR Temp Switch - A Green wire comes out of the large wire bundle that runs across the rear of the engine, to the left rear of the intake base and terminates in a connector. This wire may have just been cut up on the right side of the engine near the dist base. When the ECM calls for EGR it pulls pin A4 low which grounds the wire to the EGR Solenoid and energizes that solenoid. When exhaust gas flows past the EGR Temp sensor the switch inside the sensor closes, pulling ECM pin C15 to ground. So, if you connect a diode between the Grey wire to the green wire, with the diode cathode toward the Grey wire, the EGR command signal should ground the EGR feedback signal so that the ECM sees the EGR active when called for and inactive when not called for. Closing the EGR loop in this fashion should eliminate the code 32 problem

there is no egr tube on a 85,it is all done in the intake manifold, this is unique to the 85,later years had a tube from the exhaust manifold th the egr valve.i got rid of my 85 egr and it has never thrown a code,i dont know why,i know the 85 has a computer that was only for that year, perhaps that has something to do with it.
