Anyone have some good data on cams for LT4 350's? I was going to run a hot cam, but I think I wasnt something different. Looking for good mid range power, not loosing any low end, and keeping a decent idle. My heads will probably be ported by TJ cylinder heads, and my compression ratio is just under 11:1. let me know what you guys think.. Thanks in advance..
Once you get some head flow numbers for your heads, take those numbers and get a custom camshaft made for your application. It might cost a little more, but it is well worth it at the end.
The hotcam does OK. There are alot of other grinds that work just as well. I'm sure NP will be in here shortly to extoll the virtues of the HC. I went with the HC because thats all I could afford. I really wanted something a bit more aggressive but couldnt swing the extra $$$ to upgrade the rest of the valvetrain. If I had my choice it would be something in the I224 E230 range WITH .550 lift numbers. Maybe even 230 236.
I went with the comp cams hyd roller cam for nitrous, 1.6 rocker shafts. Not for the low buck guy.You have to get sucked in like I did .
After it was built the last thing that was checked was intake clearence and it was off .375 adjustable guide plates would not work ,
to much off set.
AFR heads $2500.00 shaft rockers $1018.00.
Chose wisely you could end up like me.
To much money invested to change now.
I just hope it runs like I want.
