Default Any here use Brodix Track 1's

Does anyone use this large of head on a smaller engine, i.e. 350/383 ect? They have large 221cc intake runners, 2.08 int. valves, raised exhaust ports.. just plain excessive.

If there are people that run this large of head here, how does it perform at the track (primary use of this car)

I initially ordered a set of AFR 195's on Jan 3rd, but after I called a few days ago, they told me they had a tooling problem, and it wouldnt be until the middle of april until I could get them. He said he was not able to give me a specific date. I told the guy to cancel my order, then he said he could have them in a couple of days. At that point, they could take those heads, and stick em up their a$$. I ordered a set of brodix track 1's instead. I took these b/c they could have them the next day, and I want to get this thing back togather. I know these are some pretty large heads, but that is ok b/c of future plans for a big cube small block.
These are going on my 377 (desroked 400) w/ a solid cam 238, and 248 @ .050, w/ a miniram. I'm guess this thing isnt going to want to make too much power until it reaches around 4,000rpms, which will be ok, b/c I dont mind turning it high, and there is always nitrous.

I know someone who had T1's on a 383 track car with a MiniRam. Power really came on around 4k and climbed thru 7k.

You need to pick a cam that lets the motor breath well, match it up to the potential of the heads.

For the record I have a set of T1 M2's for my 427 SBC...nice craftsmanship.

You want to get the M2 Track 1s from M2 if you get them. And I would not exceed 215cc on that CI motor.

AFR is sold through either Summitracing.com or Jegs.com, and might have better lead times. AFR has had several problems in the past with serious quality issues, and their lead time SUCKS. I would be very hesitant about buying their stuff straight from them. Through a Jegs or Summit, at least you can return them for a replacement without too much hassle should there be a problem.

FOr that motor a 190cc head would probably be best. Smaller is better than too big when it comes to heads.

Years ago I ran track I's on my 65 corvette with a 355, 11/1 and solid roller cam. Not a good street combo with the large port size. They also fit 1206 fel pro gaskets and would require a manifold with enough meat to seal around the ports.

I considered running them with my superram in my 90 with a 400 (since I already had them), but I decided against it and bought new smaller port heads.

The 221cc heads are going to be too big for a 377. I wouldnt even run them with a MR, just too big.

..brodix heads are the best choice for your performance mods.. they are precision machined to tight tolerances and NOT sloppy castings like the AFR,,,( i have seen AFR's And was not inpressed)these may be a bit big for your need..this will be your choice .. i would

i don;t use on track , but they are on bad azz on the street!

afr have major tooling problems; i was informed by "MOPAC performance" ( our supplier here) that it would be this fall before any order be processed. wouldn't buy them any way...i doubt if summit / or jegs could supply them now for a while...simply not available
