Front Tie Rod Removal
I am having a hard time breaking loose the outer tie rod from the inner tie rod. Anybody have a trick to make it easier...I was able to remove the outer from the spindle but cant remove it from the rack. This is on a 96

Did you back off the lock nut? The tie rod has a square end on it to put a wrench on then put a wrench on the lock nut and back it off. After doing this if it won't just come off by hand then put vice-grips on the serrated section of the inner tie rod and use a wrench to get the outer tie rod off. Remember to count the turns it takes to get the tie rod end off so you can replace it close enough to get it to an alignment shop.

could be frozen, had one in work 3 weeks ago, the jam nut came loose, so it let water/moisture in there and froze the inner/outer tie rods together..........customer now needs a new rack
